Our Services

Founded in 1931, our family business is now in its fourth generation. We originally built and serviced Seaview dinghies, having constructed over 200, primarily by the Warren family.  Although new builds are rare, we maintain traditional skills to keep the fleet in excellent condition, supporting competitive dinghy racing with over 100 active boats in July and August each year.

Notable Mentions:

  • The Seaview Dinghy featured in the Association of Yachting Historians (article available for download).

  • 2018 SVYC 125th Anniversary: Over 100 Sea View dinghies participated in the Club Sail Past on August 19th.

  • Bob Seely, former Isle of Wight MP, visited the business and was interested in the Sea View dinghy history and the perseverance of a protected trade (wooden boat building).

  • In 2023 WarrenBoats were finalists in the CLA and the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society Small Rural Business of the Year awards

The business has expanded and now offers a full range of boating services.

Heritage

In 2022, we restored a former Wesleyan chapel to support our heritage boating services. The project enhances the streetscape, adds a new second floor, and improves storage and workshop facilities.

Additionally, we are upgrading our use of IT software to enhance service delivery.

The Boat Store is strategically located next to Seaview Yacht Club with staff facilities and an office base.  The building has been sensitively renovated and improved making it easier for our clients to speak directly to us.
